Hi there, I’m Shiva, I’m a designer and creative based in Brooklyn, NY. I grew up in San Diego, CA and lived there for the greater part of my life before moving to NYC. I initially picked up graphic design after taking a class and learning a lot from my Mentor John Nacu. I transitioned into UX Design after taking classes at San Diego City College before moving to New York.
In my first week in the east coast, I began a practice to make something everyday which has literally changed my life. I started with drawing where I taught myself illustration using youtube videos and the outdoors.
As of late I have surpassed 1450 days of making consisting of illustration, 3D models, animation, and visual exploration. It has literally transformed my life. I now do my best to combine the many years of experiences, tools, and skillsets to inform my design for the future.
Here are some fun facts about me:
-
The first console I ever touched was a Nintendo 64.
-
My PC is an old Compaq prebuilt from 2008 and I have been upgrading it since. The only original part left is the optical drive.
-
I self taught myself 3D after being inspired by many of my friends
- I drew everyday for 640 days and I learnt very easily why people spend their lives drawing
- I have published an essay about the art of keyboards.
- I’ve built 5 different fightsticks and now I use none of them.
